Who we are

WatchIntel operates the editorial database at watchintel.io. For data protection enquiries, contact us via the email published on the site.

Legal bases

• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — analytics cookies, first-party usage measurement, and Google Analytics when you accept analytics.
• Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) — security, fraud prevention, and operating the site (e.g. server logs on the host, not exported into our analytics dashboard).
• Contract / steps at your request — processing photo submissions you choose to send.

What we collect with analytics consent

• Pages and paths visited on WatchIntel
• Referring website hostname (not full URL when avoidable)
• Traffic source category (search, social, direct, etc.)
• Device type and browser family (derived from user-agent, not stored in full)
• Anonymous session and visitor IDs (random UUIDs in cookies)
• UTM campaign parameters when present in the URL

We do not sell personal data. We do not use analytics data to score or rank watches.

Your rights (EEA / UK)

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of personal data we hold about you, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. You may withdraw analytics consent at any time by clearing cookies and declining analytics on your next visit. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Retention

Analytics events are retained for operational reporting (typically reviewed on a rolling 30-day basis in admin). Photo submission data is kept while needed to review and attribute images, then deleted on request.

Processors

Hosting and database providers process data on our instructions. Google Analytics (if enabled after consent) is operated by Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC under their terms.
